The smallest score in DISC assessment is associated with Influence quadrant. The skills and behaviors associated with this quadrant are: outgoing personality, communicativeness, openness, emotionality. The weak sides of my strongest traits, Steadiness and Conscientiousness, are fear of criticism of my work and fear of the loss of stability.

I want to improve such traits as outgoing personality and communicative abilities to be able to motivate and inspire others and in order to become a more effective leader and manager. I would like to be more open and emotional in order to get along with people easier and to develop empathy. I would like to get rid of the fear of criticism and of the fear of losing stability in order to be able to initiate new projects, take risks and explore my potential to the full.

Nowadays the nature of business environment is changing, and organizations have to adjust to this environment. Instead of stability and predictable conditions companies now have to deal with rapidly changing environment, and the focus shift from labor and brick-and-mortar practices to knowledge and brick-and-click approach (Robbins, 2008). The role of human resources in the company’s success is increasing, and managers should be aware of these trends. In order to empower employees and to provide appropriate development perspectives for them, managers should pay attention to various methods of performance improvement, techniques for raising self-awareness, development of leadership qualities for staff, etc (Brocato, 2003).
Techniques aimed at developing leadership qualities and self-awareness assessment methods are of particular importance, since these qualities might contribute to the performance of the team, and positively impact working climate of the whole organization (Northouse, 2009). Self-awareness techniques also allow employees to analyze their strong and weak qualities, and can be used an effective instrument for self-improvement. HR managers should encourage the use of such techniques and provide appropriate instruments to employees. The purpose of this paper is to utilize DISC personality testing technique, to analyze the results provided by this technique and to create a plan of action and commitment timetable for self-improvement basing on the results of DISC assessment.

Basically, Argyll College is oriented on the implementation of the innovative approaches to education. Today, the Information Communication Technology Management plays increasingly more important world in the functioning of organizations. In fact, the wide use of information technologies and communication technologies stimulates the emergence of the ICT Management. Basically, this is a relatively new branch of management and its development is closely intertwined with development of information technologies and their wider implementation in practically all organizations. In fact, the use of information technologies and new means of communication naturally evoked the need in the effective management of the new technologies and means of communication.

Planning is one of the most important functions of management. In the contemporary business environment, the role of planning has increased consistently, because there is a little margin for error today. In such a situation, modern organizations need planning in order to define clearly the major directions of their strategic development and practical objectives and ways of their achievement at the moment. However, the modern process of planning is affected by various factors which have never existed before. In this respect, it is possible to mention globalization as one of the determinant factors that defines the development of modern organizations and planning process.
First of all, the process of planning is very complicated and, simultaneously, planning is crucial for a successful performance of any organization. In actuality, planning comprises the backbone of the organizational performance because it is on the basis of plans the development and progress of the organization occurs and the functioning of the organization aims at the achievement of goals which are set in plans and by means which may be also defined in plans (Peters, 2007). Any way, it is obvious that all other functions of management are practically useless without planning. Obviously, there is nothing to organize or control, if there is no plan. Moreover, without planning the progress of any organization is impossible because the development without a plan occurs spontaneously and there is a high risk of misleading conceptions which may be applied by the organization and which may lead the organization to failure if there is no plan.
At the same time, it is necessary to distinguish difference between plans which are used by modern organizations. In this respect, strategic planning seems to be particularly important because it refers to the strategic development of organizations. In fact, due to strategic planning, modern organizations can define and apply the most effective strategies to achieve their strategic goal, but the achievement of these goals is impossible if tactical and operational planning are ineffective. Tactical and operational planning is focused on more concrete, practical goals which the organization needs to meet (Peters, 2007). For instance, such planning can include the creation of a new production line. In such a way, through the steady and systematic implementation of tactic and operational planning, it is possible to meet goals set by strategic planning.
Furthermore, the planning process is affected by various internal and external factors. At this point, it is necessary to underline that both internal and external factors are equally important for modern organizations. Internal factors, such as organizational culture, interpersonal relations within organizations, productive potential, structure, the qualification of the personnel, etc., determine the potential and opportunities of organizations to grow. Naturally, organizations cannot progress if they have some internal problems (Peters, 2007).
On the other hand, external factors are not less significant. The situation in the market and industry, for instance, affects the functioning of organizations and, therefore, planning should take into consideration external factors (Schein, 1999). Otherwise, organizations are likely to face a serious disparity between its internal structure and potential and external market situation.
In this respect, globalization is probably one of the most substantial factors which define the development of modern organizations. In fact, globalization can affect not only external factors but also internal development of the organization. Effects of globalization are also quite controversial (Schein, 1999). On the one hand, globalization eliminates fiscal barriers and stimulates cooperation of organizations worldwide. Along with basic management functions, the modern management can be influenced by internal and external factors which affect the performance of my organization consistently. In this respect, the impact of internal factors is basically determined by the organizational culture. The organization is oriented on the formation by positive interpersonal relationships between managers and employees. In such a context, conflicts within the organization affect consistently its performance. For instance, recently, the organization has suffered from the communication gaps between managers and employees, when the restructuring of the organization started. As a result, employees were uncertain about their future in the organization and feared of job cuts, which, though did not occur. As a result, even though there were no job cuts, the lack of information on the restructuring led to the deterioration of the performance of the organization.
As for external factors, the growing competition is probably the major challenge the organization has to cope with. The competition forces the management to introduce new strategies and approaches in order to improve the market performance of the organization and increase the effectiveness and productivity of work of employees. In such a situation, the flexibility of the organization becomes one of the major goals of the organization in order to respond to the changing business environment faster than its major competitors. Important connection to be mentioned here is ethics and law. The opinion, that everything, what is legal and lawful is automatically ethical turns out to be wrong. There are things, which are unlawful and unethical, but at the same time there can be numerous examples of lawful, but unethical things. “Notable examples are situations in which the law, or the way law is applied, is considered unethical (‘wrong’ is the typical description) by sufficient numbers of people to pressure the legal system to change” (Bass, 1995). The brightest historical examples are the suppression of women in their rights, like for example the right to vote, slavery, colonies and so on. Thus we could generally conclude to this connection, that all unlawful actions are unethical, whereas not all lawful are correspondingly ethical. It means, that managers can not rely only on laws in the situations, when they face a problem, related to ethical issues.
Popular opinion is also a rather weak measurement for a manager as for what ethics is and what is not. First of all as any situation is unique – there is a need to be aware of all the details to be able to come out with ethical judgments, usually, not all people are informed correctly and really know the situation. “Leadership – as a function within civilizations – features in the organization of human systems and societies because people generally accept that many sorts of complex and large scale decision-making are best made by full-time experts working in the areas concerned, rather than such decisions being left to the vagaries of popular inexpert view” (Gross, 2009). Normally, managers are to be ready to fulfill this role of a leader and take corresponding decisions. We do not want to say here, that public opinion should not be taken into consideration or even consultations, however, that there always should be a leader, able to make rational judgments, corresponding to ethical rules and principles, peculiar to the concrete organization.
