Different countries have different level of development and developing countries attempt to catch up with developed ones but accelerated industrialization and transition to post-industrial society have negative impact on the natural environment.
At this point, it is worth mentioning the fact that open market economy fails to meet ethical obligations because of several reasons. First, absence of democracy leads to the consistent diversity in legal norms regulating conditions of work, relationships between employees and employers, the impact of business on environment and other ethical and legal issues. Second, the role of consumers is also extremely important because consumers define consistently business development. There is a complex structure of the relationship between business and government through the tax system, controlling organizations, public corporations and government contracts. The government regulates the business and vice versa, through lobbying, funding of electoral campaigns, participation in the state economical councils, business affects the government (Adams 2010, pp. 615-637). Many believe that in this system, the function of the government is to promote business development, and the only moral sanction in business is a legal sanction.
On the other hand, the complex relationship of business and government does not mean that only legislative sanctions can be applied to business; some laws governing the relations between business and government are questionable from a moral point of view (tax laws that allow hiding taxes). There are doubts about how thoroughly the government observes the implementation of the law, does business provide pressure on the government. Only legal codes for business are not enough (Adams 2010; Doh 2010; Hartmann 2002).
Friedman (1993) argues that if to conduct of business being guided by ethical considerations, the company can become vulnerable in the competition. However, the vulnerability in the competition is a relative term. The purpose of business is really in profit, and from the moral point of view there is nothing wrong with that. But problems may arise because of the means and their consequences, i.e. in case the business will bring harm to others (Singh 2010, pp. 9-19).
Responsibility in front of the society is associated with environmental problems. Environmental pollution is a serious danger, therefore, there’s the necessity for environment protection laws, controlling the dumping of hazardous wastes into the environment. Consumers have the right to security, the right to receive complete information about the products, the right to choose and the right to pursue their claims.
The rise in popularity of ethical consumerism over the past two decades may be associated with the expansion of CSR practices. With the growth of world population, there is a growing pressure on limited natural resources needed to meet growing consumer demand (Grace and Cohen 2005, p.147). As a result, industrialization of technological development and globalization are expanding in many developing countries. Consumers are now more aware about environmental and social component of their everyday consumer decisions and begin to make purchasing decisions related to their environmental and ethical preferences (Enderle 2007, pp. 83-94).
Besides, in most cases, the very working environment and human resources provide many opportunities to help those who need it. Managers who try to use such opportunities are in no way shirking their direct financial obligations to shareholders. Today, mass media play an important part in the life of the modern society. At the same time, it is important to remember that the mass media, including newspaper, can affect consistently the life of people. In this regard, many newspapers are vulnerable for lawsuits in case of publishing offensive or untrue information about an individual without his or her consent. In this regard, the right to privacy of individuals often comes into clashes with the freedom of press. Thus, constitutional rights of mass media and individuals may come into clashes and it is very important to distinguish the extent to which actions or inaction of newspapers, for instance, are legal when individuals file lawsuits against them. In this respect, it is possible to refer to the case of Jones v. the National Enquirer, which shows that newspapers can affect consistently the life of individuals but, at the same time, they are vulnerable to lawsuits being filed by individuals.

The National Enquirer is the state newspaper. In this respect, it is important to place emphasis on the fact that the National Enquirer is the newspaper spread inCalifornia, whereas the material the newspaper published referred to Mr. Jones who lived inFlorida. In such a way, formally the newspaper did not affected Mr. Jones directly because the circulation of the newspaper inCaliforniacould hardly affect directly the position of Mr. Jones inFlorida.

Nevertheless, the information published was truly offensive in relation to Mr. Jones and the National Enquirer should not avoid the lawsuit. At any rate, from the ethical point of view the attempt of the newspaper to avoid the lawsuit was unethical. To put it more precisely, the newspaper should be responsible for all the materials it publishes. Therefore, the newspaper should not publish materials, if they are not checked or if the newspaper is uncertain that the individuals involved in the published material will not be affected or offended unjustly. At this point, the key idea is that the newspaper should publish the true information, whereas in some cases even publishing the true information may need the consent of individuals involved in the published material. Consequently, if the National Enquirer was certain enough in the material it published concerning Mr. Jones, than the newspaper should take responsibility can accept the lawsuit and win the case in the court. partners, on their high standards for themselves and others and at the same time on the sense of duty. Besides, interacting with each other, the entrepreneurs form not only the ethics of their corporation, but also of the society. Of course, this process must be taken with the account of legal rules, but the main thing in it is still the ethical aspects, because the basic principles of business interaction are faithfulness to the word and respect for the partner.
