Organizational change is the altering of the way in which the company is organized. It may be something simple like organization restructuring or complex as a forced organizational change. Vital organizational change is one of the most difficult strategies to implement. Besides there are some types of processes that often prevent organizational change: structural processes, involving the consequences of complexity and viscosity; institutional processes, involving the moral character of structural planning; political processes, concerning interests and interest-group politics; learning processes, involving feedback after a while. It should be mentioned, that the “loosely coupled” organizational system is a main factor preventing rapid and complete organizational change.
Not every change is a good thing, and sometimes internally generated change may create bad results. If an organization has a really domineering member, the internal change may be a result of that individual and will be too single-minded to be good for the whole company. Also, when teams have been cooperating for too long in common environment, it is possible that the group mentality may take over and can create unproductive change within the organization. On analyzing my current online identity, I should point out that my current online identity should become more specific and informative. For instance, my current online identity contains a lot of extra information concerning my friends, for instance, or my past, which may be uninteresting for a potential employer as well as other users. Obviously, if my potential employers are overwhelmed with information, which does not matter for them, they are not likely to employ me or even to contact me. I believe that my potential employers need more specific and detailed information that helps them to shape a clear vision of me as their potential employee.
In addition, my current online identity is rather introverted then extraverted and my purposes is to make it rather extraverted than introverted. What I mean is making my online identity more informative for potential employers and I should focus on my professional skills and abilities, my achievement and my professional goals rather than on my personality.
Implementation planning documentation
My project would focus on the creation of my online identity and profile that will be informative and helpful for potential employers to assess my professional development and personal qualities and to take decision whether to contact me or not for negotiations on my employment. My project would focus on the elaboration of my profile stressing my educational background, including my past current achievements, my academic progress, and my involvement in the non-academic activities related to the life of my University.
In addition, my online identity should contain information on my practical skills, which I have acquired in the course of my studies. My involvement in the community life is also very important for my online identity profiling. In such a way, potential employers will reveal my abilities to work in different contexts and to be useful for my community and organization, where I can work.
While creating my online identity, I can refer to existing online profiles of professionals working in different fields, including their online identity and CVs. On analyzing these materials, I can pick up important information, which can help me to create my own effective online identity profile.

In actuality, the development of information technologies and contemporary telecommunication systems make the development of online identity essential not only for the effective communication but also for the effective promotion and career development. It is worth mentioning the fact that the global financial crisis of 2008 was provoked not only by the deep economic recession in the US and the crisis in the US housing market but also by the high oil prices and speculations in the oil industry in the global market. To put it more precisely, the rise of the oil prices was one of the major causes of the economic recession and global financial crisis. In fact, the OPEC member states attempted to maximize their profits and speculations in the oil market allowed them to sell oil at the exorbitant price but, eventually, the skyrocketed oil price became unaffordable for countries importing oil. Moreover, as the economic crisis has struck, countries importing oil could not just afford buying oil at the unaffordable price. As a result, the oil consumption has dropped substantially and the OPEC member states could not sell oil as much as they used to prior to the global financial crisis of 2008. In such a way, the global economy has faced the problem of a deep economic crisis, while the oil price and supply became the major factors aggravating the situation in the global economy.
In response to the drop of demand and the ongoing deterioration of the situation in the global economy, the OPEC member states were forced to start to decrease the oil supply in the world market. The last time OPEC cut its production was December 2008, when the cartel’s members engineered a series of reductions totaling 4.2 million barrels a day aimed at pushing back oil prices that had slumped to $30 a barrel. Since then, compliance levels have fallen to about 55 percent, from a high of over 80 percent last year (Waselchuk, 2010)
After OPEC producers vowed to reduce their output by 4.2 million barrels a day, or about 5 percent of global production, they seem to have worked successfully together: by early 2009 production was down by three million barrels, and prices had stopped sliding and rebounded slightly. In responses, the US and other major consumers of the oil focused on the introduction of fuel-efficient technologies, development of their own oil industries, and search of other suppliers to decrease their dependence on the OPEC member states. For management purposes and for studying organizational behaviour, it is very useful to practice different activities aimed at improving creativity and cooperation of team members. In addition to standard trainings, instruction and recommendations, it is very effective to use role game, collaboration games and other additional settings where team members can try their abilities in unusual circumstances and work out a certain decision to achieve their goal. Provided that proper rules and objectives are set for the team, and appropriate reflection and feedback is given.
The game “Forbidden Island” is generally concerned a family cooperative game (Bryon, 2011), and it is often associated with home leisure and not regarded as a tool for exploring “serious” issues such as organizational behaviour and team collaboration. However, this game, despite its relative easiness and clear rules, can be used for management purposes, and for team-building in particular. At the same time, this game cannot simply serve as a background for tracking each other’s behaviors; in order to become a successful training instrument, it should be modified in order to let the players apply different approaches (Bryon, 2011), set different goals and to explore diverse variants for the future development of the situation.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze different team working experiences which emerged during the three rounds of the team game “Forbidden Island” under the professor’s guidance, with different rules set for each of these three rounds. The experience of playing this collaboration game was overwhelming, and it gave us meaningful insights related to personal abilities and to team performance in general. Next sections of the paper contain the description of the game and important moments in the game, analysis of team behaviour based on individual perception and based on the findings of organizational behaviour theories, and also provides a discussion on the consequences of this game, future modifications and the lessons which each of our team members should learn.
