He stood on the ground that an effective system of learning and the generation of knowledge could contribute to effective solutions of numerous problems
In this respect, it should be said that his major work in the field of management is “Learning Organizations”, in which he actually promotes the idea of the necessity of learning and generation of knowledge (George, 1968). He underlines that contemporary organizations need to implement constantly innovations and find effective solutions to practical problems they face in their regular functioning, but the latter is impossible without the generation of new knowledge by employees. It is also worth mentioning the fact that the development of the effective system of sharing knowledge within the organization could facilitate consistently the generation of new knowledgebuy essay
Peter Drucker was an outstanding writer, management consultant and professor. Basically, he is famous as one of the first specialists who introduced the term “knowledge worker” and he mainly focused his attention on knowledge economy. At the same time, he was very skeptical about the significance of macroeconomics as well as he was also known for his criticism of Marx’s world view of political economy (Weisbord, 2004). Also, it is worth mentioning forecasts of Drucker concerning the future economic development, which Weisbord (2004, p.131) describes as follows:
“Drucker predicted the end of “economic man” and advocated the creation of a “plant community” where individuals’ social needs could be met. He later admitted that the plant community never materialized, and by the 1980s, suggested that volunteering in the non-profit sector might be the key to the community.”
One of his main achievements is the development of the concept of management by objectives. In terms of this management theory Peter Drucker developed the idea that it is necessary to manage business by balancing a variety of needs and goals, rather than subordinating an institution to a single value (Daft, 2005). In such a way, he underlined the significance of objectives of the management and organizations, which define their development.
